Stephen Mitchell
President Commissioner

Chief Financial Officer of Mercy Corps. Mr. Mitchell has 24 years of domestic and international finance experience. He has worked extensively in the private sector for major U.S. financial and public accounting institutions, including U.S. Bank, where he directed financial institutions lending for the western U.S., Zion Bank and PriceWaterhouseCoopers. Mr. Mitchell has served as chairman of XacBank, one of Asia's largest and most successful commercial microfinance organizations, and been an advisor on microfinance matters around the world. He is a Certified Public Accountant and Certified Treasury Professional, and has presented at various accounting conferences and forums. Mitchell serves on the boards of directors of Mercy Corps Northwest, XacBank, Capital Pacific Bank and Mercy Corps Scotland, and is an investment committee member of Microvest Capital LLC, a Washington, D.C.-based firm that manages $20 million in investments to microfinance banks worldwide.



I Wayan Gatha

I Wayan Gatha started his career as a banker by leading MAI (Maskapai Andil Indonesia) Bank Pasar Kamboja from 1968 to 1976. Since 1976, Wayan Gatha actively led BPSP (Bank Pasar Sri Partha). Even when BPSP changed its status to a commercial bank (PT. BSP), Wayan Gatha occupied the position of Director. Wayan Gatha was one of the key person in helping the growth of BPSP. During the lead BPSP, he has been known as an empirical banker at local and national level because of his expertise in banking practices and among his professions in Bali. In fact, he has been encouraging the birth of several banks, rural banks and market banks, which are very supporting to Bali's economy.



William Haworth (*)

Chief Operations Strategist, Financial Markets, East and South Asia. Mr. Haworth is a seasoned manager and financial services professional. He began his career in banking and worked as a banker from 1977 to 1986 in a wide variety of areas in the US and internationally starting with Chemical Bank in 1977. His banking experience covered retail branch site location analysis, corporate and middle market credit and relationship management, project finance, trade finance, business management, risk asset review, and problem loan management. Mr. Haworth joined Citibank in 1981 and worked in Saudi Arabia and the USA. In 1986, Mr. Haworth left Citibank and joined Booz Allen working in Asia where he eventually led the East Asia Regional Banking practice. After 7 years with Booz Allen, Mr. Haworth returned to the US where he joined the Barents Group in Washington DC, first as Managing Director of Financial Services and then as CEO in 1997. Barents had over $ 100million in revenues with 600 people working in 40 countries. He worked to bring Barents into the BaringPoint IPO and in 2000, returning to Asia as a Senior Vice President with BaringPoint. He was responsible for acquiring and integrating various consulting practices and built a team of over 200 people in 8 countries. In 2002, as BaringPoint’s business moved increasingly to systems integration, Mr. Haworth left BearingPoint and returned to strategic consulting in the financial sector as a partner with AT Kearney in Australia. Mr. Haworth joined the IFC in 2003 as a Chief Credit Officer, based in Washington DC. Then in August of 2005, he assumed responsibilities for the IFC’s financial markets portfolio in Asia and in 2006 was promoted to the Financial Markets East Asia Regional Manager and moved to Hong Kong. He is currently responsible for Financial Markets Strategy in East and South Asia and is a Chief Strategist based in Hong Kong. In this role he responsible for working with diverse country teams to build sound operating strategies to grow IFC’s business. This role has involved intensive analysis of China, India, Russia, Brazil, and Turkey as well as all of the other smaller economies in East and South Asia including Indonesia, Vietnam, the Philippines, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and the Pacific Islands.

Mr. Haworth has a strong track record in building teams in Asia and in managing a very diversified workforce across countries. He has a strong mix of strategic, risk and process management skills as well as very strong people management and team building experience. He has managed an organization with over 600 people and has dealt effectively with CEO’s and senior government officials around the world in a variety of consulting and management roles. His consulting experience covers over 40 countries and he has personally conducted work on the ground in over 25 banks in over 18 countries. His background includes 12 years as a practicing credit officer with the IFC, Chemical Bank, in New York, and with Citibank, in Saudi Arabia and the US; as well as 16 years of financial sector consulting experience with leading firms including: Booz Allen, Barents Group, KPMG, and A.T. Kearney/EDS. He was CEO of Barents Group in Washington, D.C., until the group was merged into KPMG Consulting in 2000. He has extensive work experience throughout Asia, the former Soviet Union, the Middle East and Latin America and has a keen interest in financial sector development globally.



Ari R.P. Ariwibowo
Independent Commissioner

Mr. Ariwibowo comes to Bank Andara with experience in banking for the past three years as an Executive Vice President at Bank Danamon at the Center for Operational Excellence, and international experience of nearly 5 years at McKinsey consulting at managerial level for Corporate Finance and Strategy and Operation Transformation. Mr. Ariwibowo holds an MBA from Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania and BSc in Economics and Engineering from University of Pennsylvania.



Independent Commissioner

Mrs. Kiswanti comes to Bank Andara with experience in banking for fifteen years, with her latest position in the banking industry as President Director of PT. Bank Purba Danarta. Previously, she was a banker in Citibank and PT ING Indonesia Bank and also currently works as microfinance consultant covering Jakarta, Denpasar, Yogyakarta, Aceh, Nias, Pontianak, Timor Leste and other areas. Mrs. Kiswanti holds Master of Business Administration from University of Southern California and Bachelor of Science in Industrial Technology from Bandung Institute of Technology.
