Bank Andara Explore Synergies with Cooperatives
In order to overcome liquidity problems and strengthen the cooperative business efforts in Indonesia, Bank Andara plans a synergy with cooperatives in Indonesia. The initial steps taken with hold a meeting with the Ministry of Cooperatives & SMEs RI, and several cooperatives in Bali on February 24, 2012 at Bank Andara headquarter – Denpasar. It was attended by representatives of Ministry of Cooperatives & SMEs RI, 12 cooperatives in Bali, and Bank Andara.
The outcome of this meeting is an assessment of the possibility of APEX for cooperatives, the addition of the role of coordinator Bank for APEX, and a need to establish a working group to form APEX which is consist of cooperatives, Cooperative Council of Indonesia (Dekopin), local agencies and Bank Andara. Then, the team will conduct a risk mitigation and implementation plan for APEX for cooperatives. Later, cooperatives in Bali will be a pilot project for APEX for cooperatives program.
Previously, Bank Andara has successfully developed a linkage program with BPR (Andara Bersama BPR/ABB). A synergy programs between PT Bank Andara and BPR with the aim to overcome nonstructural liquidity problems that are often experienced by BPR. Reflecting on the success of ABB Program, Bank Andara sees the possibility of synergy with cooperatives in Indonesia.
