Through the Competitiveness Improvement Strategy of Micro Finance Institutions (MFI) program, Bank Andara conducted "Leadership and Motivation Training" for MFIs in East Java. This training was aimed to provide motivation in developing an effective leader’s character with open perspective, knowledgeable, knows the subordinates’ needs and good decision-maker.
Venue at Price Royal Hotel Surabaya, the training was conducted for 3 days (Wednesday 20/11 to Friday 22/11) and participated by 30 Directors of Bank Andara’s MFIs in East Java.
The training was opened by Mr. Irianto Kusumadjaja, Technology and Operations Director of Bank Andara. Mr. Irianto explained that the training is considered as Bank Andara’s commitment to develop the MFI’s management quality especially in Human Resources aspect in order to compete with other financial institutions.
“The competition in financial institution industry is getting tighter, that’s why Human Resources’ competence and capacity improvement are absolutely required by MFI to compete with other formal financial institutions” Irianto adds. In addition to that, there are many Indonesians are having no access or underserved by the financial products – that it must be a hard challenge to MFI to outreach and serve this segment.
The Leadership and Motivation training was one of the Competitiveness Improvement Strategy of Micro Finance Institutions (MFI) program by Bank Andara. In general, there were 5 topics for further discussion : Microfinance Management Development Program (MMDP), Risk Awareness, Business Plan, Leadership and Motivation, and Asset & Liabilities Management. This program has been conducted since September 2013 and will continue until February 2014 in Bank Andara branches in Jakarta, Denpasar, Semarang and Surabaya.
